Residents of Saudi Arabia need an exit and re-entry visa issued through Muqeem (muqeem.sa) before traveling abroad if they intend to return on the same iqama. There are two main types: a single-exit visa for one trip out and back, and a multiple-exit visa allowing several trips within its validity period. Both types require the iqama to remain valid for the entire time abroad, and neither allows a single trip to exceed its permitted maximum duration.

Steps to issue the visa

1. Log in to Muqeem with a verified account.
2. Select the exit and re-entry visa service and choose the type (single or multiple).
3. Confirm your iqama remains valid for the full requested duration.
4. Pay the required fee through an approved channel — check the current amount on the payment screen, and use the currency converter if you need it in your home currency.
5. Save or print the electronic proof of the visa before traveling.

Important points before you travel

• Iqama validity: your iqama must cover the entire exit and re-entry period. If it's close to expiring, renew it first — see the iqama renewal guide.
• Passport validity: a minimum remaining validity is usually required at the time of travel — check the exact requirement on the application screen.

After you return
